Skippack, PA – Rahns Construction Material Co. (Rahns Concrete) partnered with H&K Group, Inc., (H&K) to supply an operating diesel engine and transmission to Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center in Royersford, PA.
The engine, a Caterpillar C10, and the transmission, an Allison automatic, were gone over, painted and “put together” on a frame with a fuel tank, battery box and all other essentials to make the engine function as it normally would. The setup will be used to test students on diagnostics in the diesel technology program.
Rahns Concrete’s lead mechanic assembled the engine and transmission setup, H&K’s in-house weld shop provided fabrication assistance, H&K’s Austin Auto Body affiliate painted the components and H&K’s Austin Graphics affiliate provided lettering on the control panel. Dunne’s Towing was gracious enough to transport the engine to the Career Center.
Employees from H&K and Rahns were on hand to present the engine to the Career Center on Thursday, December 14th, 2023.
